Golfing for a cure: Kate’s favorite photos from the tournament

I’m no professional photographer, but here’s a selection of my favorite shots from the 4th Annual Golf for the Cure for Parkinson’s Disease held Saturday, April 6 at Lake Ashton.

If you want to see all the photos that made my slideshow, click here.

I’m not going to steal Dad’s thunder talking about the tournament, so I’ll just comment on my shots and why I love them.

Dick and Mary spent the morning selling mulligans and raffle tickets. Want to know why it's so funny? You'll have to watch this video.

The Lake Ashton veterans came out to the event and stood on the 18th holes. They would take the pin (which had a flag on top) and hold it for teams as they putted so it didn't touch the ground.

I don't know why I love this shot. It may be the lighting or it may be the moment. Dad and Matt (who runs the pro shop and who's Dad had PD) take a moment to talk before things start.

People started taking the free beer before it started, so Frank went over and guarded it.

Just look at the crowd and all the golf carts.

Stephanie came from NYC and Team Fox to be with us for the day. I love this shot of them driving by.

This team of Dad's friends are great. They helped with financial support as well as busted their butts setting up and taking down things with us.

Ben (right) is a veteran with Parkinson's. He spent all day sitting in the sun at the 18th hole as people thanked him for his service and got to see a new face of PD.

Gail and Denise got more tips than the young ladies on the other beer cart. And boy are they proud.

Larry is another vet with PD who was at the other 18th green. He uses crutches and got up to shake everyone's hand. All day.
